The G.Kerkstra Environmental Science Club was
started in the fall of 1994 with a single purpose in
mind: to make a positive contribution to the health
of our Earth. We've approached this mission in
many ways. We are constantly learning about
nature and how we affect it. We planted a wild
garden and a traditional garden in our school
courtyard so that all of our students can learn
about the cycle of plant life around us. We have
also started an aluminum recycling program at our
school. During three field trips during the year, we
also help The Nature Conservancy with the
restoration of Swallow Cliff Woods. We invite you
to explore this site to learn more about us and our
work.
